Work and Life Balance

By December 18, 2017 2 Comments

This might be a misnomer – can we ever really balance it?

Maybe the goal here is to be clear about priorities. Do you want to have everything balanced, or do you want to spend most of your time where it matters most at the right times?

One way to prioritize your time, efforts, and resources is to focus on five key relationships. Here’s how it stacks up:

  1. Your Creator – I’m not your spiritual leader, but I acknowledge here that we all have to come to terms with our source.
  2. Your Self – Most people forget that this is actually a relationship, and thereby neglect one of the most important ones.
  3. Your Family – And within family there is a lineup as well:
    1. Spouse
    2. Children
    3. Extended
  4. Other People – Including clients, coworkers, customers, starving children in Africa.
  5. Things – Including money and property

In my experience, keeping these key relationships in order of priority and importance allows us to experience a higher degree of satisfaction and peace. Would love to know what you think about this.

Bring the events of your life into alignment with what’s most important to you and you have a right to inner peace. ~ H. W. Smith

    I love this post.
I sooo agree with your priority of relationships!
The only thing important in this life is cultivating RELATIONSHIPS.
At the end of our life we are not going to say…”I’m so glad I drove that car…I loved it so much!” NO.
We are going to remember the PEOPLE that we shared memories with, spent time with, spent resources on, etc.
OR…we will regret that we didn’t.
I also believe that we are here on earth to share our gifts and talents with others.
That means service to the highest degree!! starting with family.
