Put Out Your Hand

My friend Dave told me a story from when he was a teenager and wanted some money to buy something he wanted. He asked his dad for the money, who said, “Put out your hand.” Dave put out his hand. Then his dad said, “Put out your other hand.” Dave put out his other hand. Then his dad said, “See those things at the end of your arms? They are called ‘hands’ – Get to work!”

The harder you work,

the harder it is to surrender.

I’ve got to admit you guys, the reason that this video clip gives me a chuckle is because I’ve not always followed that advice. It is painfully funny. Still, the solution is work, because the work we do creates real value for others. Thanks Dave!
