Do you ever get the feeling that some people are living for future happiness? For a time when there will be no problems and then they can be happy?

They are waiting to be happy. That just makes me sad.

I will be happy when I find someone and marry.

I will be happy when I get that promotion.

I will be happy when I am making seven figures.

I will be happy when…

Does when come?

Maybe.

We might find someone to marry and then be shocked when a problem arises and this person we are in love with is so unreasonable.

We might get that promotion and then find out that there are stresses along with the job that we never imagined.

We might make more money than we ever thought we would and still we have problems.

I remember seeing people who were excited to kick 2020 to the curb and welcome in 2021.

I don’t know about you, but there hasn’t been much difference between the two yet.

We don’t have to wait for the next big thing to happen to be happy.

Our happiness is not an all or nothing proposition.

We can have happiness and discontent at the same time.

It happens when we take the emotion out of something that we have labeled as “bad”.

What if we accepted things as they are and held off judging whether they were good or bad?

What if we found joy somewhere in our day when we haven’t met the love of our life, have an entry-level job and need to budget?

When we find joy in the present we are more content and less likely to put our happiness off until … that big event happens. And if that event never happens, we will have experienced happiness in the journey.

Positivity and Happiness are possible TODAY.
