Just be yourself, because everybody else is taken. I first encountered this message on the profile of a young Facebook friend. Now Alex Boye' has captured it in a song. This inspired me, so I thought to pass it along to you. Thanks for being who you are - nobody else can do it! Choice is your privilege, your birthright, your heritage. Choice is your curse if you fail to exercise it to elevate your life and fuel your endeavors. ~ Stephen Palmer

The love choice is higher ground. Love lifts and heals hurt. As we firmly, but kindly order our mind to do so, our mind will, after some initial resistance, work very hard to support the love choice. The more painful or difficult the situation, the harder it is to choose love, and the more positively life altering it is when we do so. Choose love!

As you may know, I have been preparing for several months now to host the World Hopecast, which is happening this week! My sweetheart, Vicki, shared with me a thought that I wanted to pass along. She asked me a question that got me thinking about the difference between hope and wishing. When you hope for something to happen, there is a positive assumption behind it. When you wish for something to happen, the assumption is negative. Hope is choosing to believe in a desired outcome that serves you well. It is a powerful catalyst of mental resilience and health. Wishing is based more in fantasy and magical thinking. I hope that you will join us for the World Hopecast this week. Let's combine our hope to instill hope in others and collectively boost the resilience of our species. Hope is being able to see that there is light despite…

Why can it be so hard to stay positive? Why is it so easy to get sucked into the negativity trap? Unless there is some force to the contrary, Mother Nature’s default is downhill. Mountains erode, buildings crumble, roads deteriorate, bridges eventually collapse. Rain falls, hits the ground, and flows downhill. This is good. If water didn’t flow downhill, we’d never get rain and it would be pretty much impossible to irrigate the veggies growing out back. Water follows a course of least resistance down through a hoed row in a garden then down to a lower row, and so on. On its way down the row, water sinks down through the soil to the roots of the plants. But what if your garden is uphill from the water source? How do you get the water to flow up? Change the default. Apply constant positive pressure to reverse the default and…

Immaculée Ilibagiza crouched beside seven other women in a cramped twelve square foot bathroom in Rwanda for three months, being careful not to make a sound so the bloodthirsty Hutu killing raids would not discover them and thrust their bodies onto the piles of rotting corpses that were Immaculée’s family and fellow Tutsis. To accompaniment of screams and stench of death through the tiny bathroom window, Immaculée searched for and found love. Completely justified to hate the Hutus, Immaculée knew hate would only serve to perpetuate and prolong decades of hatred which caused the most devastating genocide of our time. With the saintly dignity and poise of a modern-day Mother Teresa, Immaculée shares a powerful message of love and forgiveness with audiences around the world who have far less reason to hate. Immaculée knew she could not control her enemies’ actions towards her, but she could choose and control her…

This is the simple phrase that was printed at the bottom of a card that my friend Logan handed me when we bumped into each other at baggage claim as I returned home from the National Speaker's Association Convention in Washington, D.C. No flare. No pretense. Just a promise. Bound by my word. Give your word and keep your word. Do or do not. There is no try. ~ Yoda Learn more about the movement at www.becauseisaidiwould.com

We are creators by nature. Many religions promote the idea that humans are more than just a creation; they are actual offspring of the Creator. As a child of the Supreme Creator, what would that make you? A creator. It’s not that you can become a creator someday, you already are a creator. Just like a puppy is already a dog and a two year old child is already a person. Our creation trait begins when we are created, and persists throughout our lives. It isn’t a virtue, it is simply a trait. It’s a constant. We are constantly creating something. The question is, what are we creating? A masterpiece? A mess? Both? We create whatever our discontent drives or inspires us to create. The fact is, we enjoy encountering problems (discontent) and if there are no obvious problems we generate a few (intentional discontent) so we can enjoy creating a solution (intentional creation). That’s…
