Dr. Susan Jeffers asserts in her book, Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway, that at the root of every fear is a common belief – the belief that you can’t handle it. Once you get past this belief, fear disappears as you realize that you can handle absolutely anything and everything that life brings. I also like this quote from Les Brown: “When someone tells me that they tried to reach a goal but couldn't, I always ask, ‘What was it that you weren't willing to handle? Are you willing to burn the midnight oil, scrub floors, wash cars, work weekends, take on a second job, get there early and stay late, go back to school?’” Give up this attitude that you can’t, and start asking how you can.
